in the change over
Our action model is holistic: in every neighborhood we enter, we establish a learning community – a learning center that supports neighborhood children, educationally and socially, where the staff includes students on scholarships and other volunteers. The Learning Center allows us to organize children’s mothers into a “steering committee”, which is joined by other women from the neighborhood. The residents’ group that was established is involved in making decisions about the Learning Center and is working to change the reality of life in the neighborhood while promoting goals that the residents set.
Since 1998, we have established 14 learning communities and women’s groups (residents): Jerusalem (Katamonim, Kiryat Yuval, Talpiot), Yaffat elNassera(Marah Al Jazlan), Tamara, TLV-Jaffa (Yad Eliyahu, Florentine), Majar, Nazareth elite/ Nof Hagalil (southern neighborhood), Baka al Gharbya, Akko (Hermon neighborhood), Kiryat Shmona, Sderot and Tira.
